Max of Morgan Hill

by Patricia Tracy Dow Beveridge

Max, a one eyed fuzzy brown pony, learns important lessons about courage, strength, grace and love. This book shares with children the beauty and blessings of the spiritual essence of life. Travel with an artist’s eye to the gentle hills of Vermont to find out what Max learned up on Morgan Hill.

Purpose of the Book

Two authors and many acquaintances have unknowingly contributed to these two stories. The Mother West Wind series written many years ago by Thornton W. Burgess and “The Greatest Thing in the World” by Henry Drummond, written in 1887, were key influences on the author.

Max of Morgan Hill is written for children ages seven and up. However, young children love the illustrations and adults have enjoyed the books as well. Because the books express spiritual principles of life, often missing in modern education, the author believes they should be read to and with children cuddled together with thoughtful adults who wish to impart age-old values through discussing and sharing these ideas
